Essential Ingredients:
200 gms Split Bengal Gram
100 gms Bottle Gourd
6 tsp Tamarind
2 Onion
1 1/2 tsp Chilly Powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric
1 Piece Ginger
4 Flakes Garlic
1/2 tsp Cummin
Oil
Curry Leaves
Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions:
Soak gram overnight boil the gram with turmeric till cooked. Extract tamarind juice. Sice onions and grind ginger and garlic. Heat oil, add cumin and whole red chillies. Add ginger garlic paste, onions and fry well. Then add the gourd cut into big pieces. Add a little water and cook for a few minutes. Finally, add tamarind juice, the cooked gram and salt and simmer to ten minutes. Serve hot.
